Andrea Dittman Young

December 31, 1978 - December 06, 2020

Andrea Dittman Young Obituary Andrea Dittman Young passed unexpectedly on Dec 6th. She is survived by her husband of 17 years John Young, her parents Eileen and William Dittman and her siblings Katherine, Delaney and William. She was 41 years old. She grew up in Spokane, a proud LC Tiger and went to Montana State in Bozeman for undergraduate studies. She moved with her husband in the military around the world, spending time in Seattle, Alabama, Alaska, Italy and San Diego before moving back to Spokane. In each locale, she had different official jobs, but always made taking care of other military members and spouses a part of her time. She met every one of John?s 3 deployments with strength and was able to use what she learned during those difficult times to help others. Andie was known for opening up her home and her heart, taking care of anyone that needed extra love and of course, extra food. She loved cooking, and loved cooking for people. She measured garlic with her heart, and her heart was big enough to make her own family when she was halfway across the world from her own. She loved traveling, tasting local cuisines (and local wines). She was also a loving dog mom of some delightful mutts. She hated goat cheese. She lived for new experiences, going to new countries, concerts and studying photography to document her adventures. She worked hard for the underdog, most recently as the Development Director at Partnering for Progress in Spokane. She made friends into family. As some know, at the time of her death, she was pregnant with her first child. A virtual service will be held Saturday, December 12 at 1PM. An in person memorial for extended family and friends will be scheduled in the future. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery or Partners for Progress.
