Andrea Krauss Obituary
Andrea Krauss was born November 18, 1977, to Tom and Raydene Butterfield in Spokane, WA. Andrea graduated from Priest River High School in 1996, and attended the University of Idaho where she graduated in 2001, with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. While attending the U of I, she met her best friend and future husband, Jason. The two began dating in 1997, and were married in June 2001.
Upon graduation the couple moved to Spokane where Andrea began working in IT at a local health clinic. Andrea grew in her love and knowledge of IT, and continued to excel in her work with various companies throughout her career.
Andrea loved kids, and loved being a mom to their daughter Semira, whom they adopted from Ethiopia in 2006, when she was just under a year old.
Andrea was an amazing woman of faith, and extremely active in her church community having been a part of the plant team of her current church, City Church Spokane. Throughout her time at City Church Andrea served in almost every area possible. From kids ministry, to media, to leading small groups, to serving alongside Jason in mentoring couples in preparation for marriage. Jason, the churches Administrative Pastor, often credited her as the secret to his success.
Andrea loved to travel, loved dogs, loved to spend time with her family, and most importantly, she loved Jesus. She would often joke that her biggest ministry field was at the hospital and her many doctor visits as she always had "a captive audience".
On April 22, at the age of 44, with her husband by her side, Andrea quietly slipped away from this world, and into the loving arms of Jesus where she will now worship for eternity.
Andrea is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jason, their daughter Semira, her dad and step-mom Tom and Kellie Butterfield, her mom Raydene Hay, her sisters Jessi, Shawnda (Brandon McGonigal), brother RT, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
What cystic fibrosis (CF) took from her, Jesus has now restored.
