Benjamin Neis

January 08, 1986 - April 17, 2022

"BJ" Obituary BJ went to be with the Lord peacefully with his family at his side, on Easter Sunday, Resurrection Day. He was 36 years old. No more pain no more tears. BJs premature birth resulted in multiple disabilities including cerebral palsy and blindness. He was touched by the Lord, and he then touched many lives. His disabilities did not stop him from enjoying social activities and work, he loved Special Olympics bowling, Project id, Spokane Therapeutic Recreations such as Funshine Day Camp, bowling, dances, etc. In high school he began Young Life, Capernaum Club and stayed involved for several years. With help from ENSO, friends, and relatives, we began BJ Card Company. This brought him joy as people loved his greeting cards; he gained a sense of accomplishment of a job well done; and had stimulating interactions as he worked with friends. Side by Side is a new group he joined where he connected with new and old friends in a positive Christian environment. The ARC Community Inclusion program assisted his becoming more involved in community activities. He enjoyed sports, listening to the Mariners on the radio, Seahawks, Cougar football and Gonzaga Basketball. BJ lived with and is survived by his mother Terri and stepfather Daniel Crites. He enjoyed time with his father Rik and stepmother Vicki Neis. BJ was close to his sister Adrienne and brothers Thomas and Mark, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, coworkers, care providers, many saying BJ taught them something. BJ added light to this world.
