Bertram E. "Gene" Price Obituary
(Age 75) Gene was born on January 3, 1940 in Tonasket, WA to Bert and Anna Price. He passed away in Spokane on February 3, 2015. Gene attended Tonasket High School, graduating in 1958. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1959. He spent a tour of duty in Korea and also was stationed in Germany during the construction of the Berlin Wall. He returned to Spokane and attended Technical/Vocational School and received a degree in mechanical drafting. He then became employed by Inland Empire Paper Company, where he met his future wife Barbara and they were married June 12, 1965. In 1966 Gene became employed at Kaiser Aluminum, retiring in 1994. Following his work at Kaiser Aluminum he went to work for RA Hansen and retiring fully in 2006. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved camping and spending time with his family. He was active in his church and was a vital part of the hospitality team. Gene was an active member of Mirabeau Chapel. He was a volunteer firefighter at the Millwood Fire Department and he was actively involved with the Hutton Settlement. Gene was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Price; children: Bert (Suzzie) Price and Sabrina (Mike) Christensen; grandsons: Nic (Haley) Price, Wyatt Price and his fianc� Jamie, Peyton Dillon, Isaiah Christensen and countless others that called him grandpa Price; sisters: Rose Hays of Newport News, VA and Vonnie (Jerry) Anderson of Tonasket, WA and three nephews and two nieces. A visitation will be held on February 12, 2015 from 10:00AM to noon. A Funeral Service will follow at Heritage at 1:00PM. A gathering will be held following the service at Mirabeau Chapel at 3:30PM, 3001 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley 99206. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hutton Settlement, 422 W. Riverside #931, Spokane, WA 99201.
