Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and honor Betty's life during the visitation at Heritage Funeral Home from 1-4pm on Wednesday, July 17,2024. A solemn and dignified funeral service will take place at Heritage Funeral Home at 11:00am on Thursday, July 18,2024, where we will lovingly celebrate Betty's life and legacy. Following the service, we will gather at Greenwood Cemetery to accompany Betty to her final resting place. The compassionate and professional arrangements are being handled by Heritage Funeral & Cremation.
Betty's journey began in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, on August 10, 1936, where she was welcomed into the world by her devoted parents, Thelma and Arnold Majors. After completing her education at Mammoth Springs High School in 1954, Betty dedicated herself to caring for others, working as a nurturing nanny for her older sister. In the pursuit of love and family, Betty married Buddy Watkins, with whom she joyfully raised four children. In 1972, Betty began a new chapter in her life, marked by her marriage to Eugene Kerbs. Throughout her life, Betty found great joy and purpose in her role as a nurturer, known affectionately as the neighborhood Grandma.
While we mourn Betty's passing, we also celebrate her enduring legacy, her unwavering love, and the profound impact she had on all those whose lives she touched. Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and nurturing that will forever live on through her surviving children: Coy Watkins, Dana Burnett (Loren), and Loy Watkins, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a multitude of individuals whom she held dear. She is preceded in death by Eugene Kerbs and daughter Pamela Watkins.
In recognizing Betty's life and the impact, she had on so many, the family extends their deepest gratitude to Joseph, Susan, and the entire team At Highly Favored One Family Home for the exceptional care, love, and support they provided to Betty in her final years.
