Carol Lynn Hablitzel Obituary Carol Hablitzel passed away on July 22, 2019 in Spokane, WA. Carol was born October 17, 1941 in Antioch, CA to Paul Barrus and Ann Mae Baxter. She studied at the University of Utah, Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, as well as spent 2 ? years in Japan where she studied Japanese watercolor (Sumi-E), woodblock printing, and flower arrangement. She worked in retail fashion illustration and layout but also did freelance work including: Christmas cards, caricatures, portraits, fine art commissions, political cartoons, and court room illustrating. Besides her illustrative work, some of her hobbies included: speaking Japanese, playing guitar, singing, sewing, woodcutting, and writing and illustrating comedy books.
