Caroline Emma (Detwiler) Higgins Obituary
(Age 90) Caroline passed away on February 1, 2016 in Spokane. She was born on February 18, 1925 in New Enterprise, PA to Samuel and Catherine Detwiler.On October 22, 1943 Caroline married Earl Higgins in Rome, NY. They were blessed with three children: James Earl, Leonard Earl and Linda Carol. She followed her husband's military career, living in Medical Lake for the last 50 years. She also worked for Lakeland Village for many years as an attendant counselor. Caroline was a member of the Red Hats and the Officers Wives Club. She truly enjoyed her family and "everyone" was family. She also welcomed all of her grandchildren's friends.Caroline was preceded in death by her husband Earl; her son James Earl; Edward Walthour, Marie Kasperek and Catherine Blystone. She is survived by her son Leonard Higgins of Airway Heights; daughter Linda Patterson (Michael) of Spokane; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, to whom she was the best grandma ever.A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, February 18, 2015 at 3:00PM.
