Dean Holmes Obituary Dean Holmes passed away on July 19th, 2022 at the age of 92, in Mesa, Arizona. He died from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). His wife, Maureen Holmes, passed away 6 months earlier, and Dean died on the date of their 70th wedding anniversary. He is survived by eight children, their spouses and partners, and over a hundred grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born and raised on a farm in Burley, Idaho; served an LDS mission in Canada; became an Air Force fighter pilot, then a United Airlines pilot until he retired. He shared his musical talents with many throughout his life, from singing to playing the saw.
