DeLayne Kincaid

December 29, 1956 - September 08, 2015

DeLayne Kincaid Obituary A beautiful soul, DeLayne Kincaid, has left our midst. Although we will miss her and continue to cherish our love and memories of her, we are comforted knowing she joins many loved ones who have gone before us and are grateful that she is now at peace. DeLayne was a bright soul who filled the room with her wonderful laugh, gregarious personality and heart-felt compassion for all those around her, often engaging strangers in friendly conversation or offering complements. Her greatest joy was the beautiful daughter she raised, Leah (Kincaid) Heimbigner, her son-in-law Kurt, and her grand-children, Nash and Reva, whom she showered with love and affection. DeLayne was preceded in death by her father, James F Kincaid, and is survived by her mother Nan (Dwite); sister Jan Kincaid (Art); brother Curtis Kincaid (Marilee) and nephews Curtis, Josh and Luke; and a large extended family, including Dan Black Sr. (Janie), Leah?s father, and half-siblings Dan Black Jr. (Molly), Jada (Black) Shoemaker and Dylan Black, and their families. She also leaves behind a very dear circle of friends, many of whom she had known since she was a young girl. DeLayne began her career in the medical field as a part-time receptionist and file clerk when still in high school. She continued to work and learn in the medical office setting, eventually becoming the office manager for Dr. Robert Cooper and Plastic Surgery Northwest. In her 25-year tenure there she formed strong bonds with Dr. Cooper and many of her co-workers. Her family thanks all of the many friends, colleagues, and others who offered their love, support, hugs and tears over the past few months as she battled the illness which took her too quickly from us. We fill the emptiness we feel from her loss with the wonderful memories and love she gave us throughout the 58 years we were so very lucky to have her in our lives. A celebration of DeLayne?s life will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home at 10 AM on Saturday, October 3rd. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a contribution to Hospice of Spokane.
