Delbert H. Lewis Obituary Delbert H. Lewis, 92, of Spokane, WA Passed away on December 23, 2021. Delbert was born on November 24, 1929, in Spokane, WA to Albert Leroy Lewis and Tera Ona Pease. He was the seventh born of fourteen children. After high school, Delbert joined the U.S. Army on December 27, 1950, where he served honorably until he was discharged on December 2, 1953. Delbert Married Ruth Cooper on April 29, 1955, and he built the house in which they happily raised their children. Delbert was a loving husband and father. As a veteran of the Korean War, Delbert, along with his brother Linzy, traveled to Washington DC with the Honor Flight to pay respects to those who have served and sacrificed for our country. He was fond of the Eagles Lodge where he had become a Golden Age Member. As his sons grew, Delbert became a Scout Master for the BSA, Troop 267. Delbert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He also had a passion for gardening, woodwork, rock hounding, and creating beautiful jewelry with the rocks he found. Delbert was considered by many to be a "jack of all trades." He was a man who loved life and all those around him. Delbert is survived by his wife Ruth, sister Elnora, and four children: Glenna, Dale (Denice), Tera and Paul. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, ten brothers, two sisters and his firstborn son Darrell. A viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home from 12-4pm on January 6, 2022. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11am on Friday January 7, 2022, at Fairmont Memorial Park Mausoleum, with a reception to follow at VFW located at 2902 E. Diamond, Spokane WA. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Delbert's life.
