Donna Elaine Lewis (Folden) Obituary Donna Elaine Lewis (nee Folden) passed May 18, 2021, ten days after her 90th birthday. She lived her life full of family and with her church community. She was a strong leader, known for taking charge and getting things done. She was a trusted advisor whom others depended upon for clear thinking, helpful direction and support. And when you got to know her a little, she was a lot of fun to be around. Born May 8, 1931 in Onawa, Iowa, Donna was the youngest of four children of George and Zoe Folden. A toddler when the family moved to Polson, Montana, she grew up there. After High School she met Tim, who she later married. They celebrated their 67th anniversary in 2018, a few months before his passing. When newlyweds they moved to Spokane. There they raised three children, of whom she was very proud: Tim A. Lewis, Julie Lewis and Randy and Dayle (s) Lewis. When grandchildren came, she took great pleasure and pride in them: Nicole and Denny (s) Platz, Gwendalyne and Karl (s) Dalien, Randy and Salley (s) Lewis, Rene and Erlend (s) Andersen, and Aaron Lewis. As she did great-grandchildren: Amber, Caitlin, and Nathan Platz, Morgan Victorino, Marcus and Kristian Andersen, Nyree and Stephan (s) Reynolds, and Aariana Lewis. She had a great great-grandson, Artyom Reynolds. Extended family remained important to Donna. When her family was young, holidays were reserved for the Folden clan gatherings. Later, with her children, and nieces and nephews starting their own families, she and Tim joined a few other family members to buy river front property, where the next generations could continue enjoying time together. From the 4th of July to Labor Day she would usually be at the Property enjoying her family. Donna also worked outside her home, mostly as a bookkeeper. She had a reputation as a hard worker, with an attention to detail, and always delivering quality work. She was sought after and worked for a couple of premier local businesses. Donna was an active life-time member of the Community of Christ, in later years becoming a lay minister in the church. She loved to sing, whether with the congregation or the choir. With a strong, beautiful voice, she sometimes sang solos, or duets with one or the other of her sisters. She was often found working in the church kitchen at potlucks or dinners, or in the church parking lot for a garage sale, frequently in charge. She found particularly joy in weekly womens prayer circles. She had may friends throughout the church community. Donna loved to get together with others to play cards and table games. Whether a game of Canasta with another couple, or a game of Dominos at an all ages game night, or a game of Scrabble with older grandkids, she was always competitive and talked a good game. (Always friendly.) Even after dementia had taken much from her, she still was able to skillfully play and enjoy a game of Hand and Foot (cards) or dominos. A Zoom Memorial will be held Sunday, June 6, at 2:00 PM. If you need information contact: momschocolatecookies@gmail.com. The Memorial Service will end with short slideshow, remembering Donna.
