Edward C. Philips Obituary (AGE 89) Our beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, Edward (�Ed�) Philips passed away peacefully on December 26, 2018, in Spokane, Washington. He was born May 5, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward Philips and Bessie Pekar. He grew up in Chicago. He obtained his Mechanical Engineering degree from Bradley University, in Peoria, where he met his first wife Loretta Easley. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers overseas during the Korean War. He moved to California, residing in Orange County for more than 50 years. He was a manager with Westec Corp for the majority of his career, until he retired. In 1988, he married Kathy Darby. In 2007, they moved to Spokane, to enjoy the community and changing seasons. He loved long walks in the neighborhood, and the gym, where he met many great neighbors and friends. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses and caregivers caring for him in his declining health. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy, his children Edward, Janine and Drew, grandchildren Amanda, Heather, Brianna, Edee, Brad and Morgan, and nieces and nephew Leslie, Robin, Kim, Peter and Lisa, whom he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Luerene Church and Georgene Salvatore.
