Jack Snizik Jr. Obituary Jack Snizik, Jr. was born on June 19, 1933, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Helen Kuz Snizik and Jack Snizik. He passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2023. His family immigrated to California in 1947 when Jack was 14 years old. He was advanced a year and completed all his high school requirements and graduated six months early from Covina High School, Covina, California in 1951. He then met his life-long fishing, hunting, and camping partner, Evans Anne. They were married on September 17, 1960, exactly a year after their first date. Their first date was quail hunting, the second was fishing, and the third was dove hunting. Jack �wanted to make sure Evans Anne was his kind of woman.� They were married for 62 adventurous, traveling, and loving years. Jack served in the ROTC as Master Sergeant, was a Boy Scout Leader and involved with the Scouts adult leader training. He served on the Board of Trustees for Wampum and served on the Supervisory Committee for Safeway Federal Credit Union. Jack and Evans Anne were volunteers with the Washington State Parks and hosted and worked at numerous State Park Campgrounds. He and his wife delivered for Meals on Wheels. He belonged to Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and served as Treasure. Jack had an avid passion for bird hunting, training bird dogs, and raised Labrador Retrievers for many years. Buck, his favorite yellow Lab, won many awards. For many years Jack was a member and Certified Judge of the North American Hunters and Retrievers Association (NAHRA), Spokane Retrievers Club, and the Spokane Bird Dog Association, serving as Treasurer and Board Member. One of Jack�s most enjoyed associations was being nominated for and elected to membership in the Jack Daniel�s Distillery�s Tennessee Squire Association, with all privileges accorded. Jack and Evans Anne are long time members of Lilac City Good Sams and have many treasured friendships and memories. He was employed by Safeway Stores for many years. His last position being Produce Warehouse Supervisor. In 1984 he was selected to be part of the Safeway Sponsorship Team that attended the U.S. Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Jack leaves behind his wife, Evans Anne Snizik, 3 children, Claudia (Bill) Tately, Jack William (Tracy) Snizik, Roseanne (Lewis) Martin, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, with the 10th expected in October, a sister, Marion Stone of California. He was proceeded in death by his parents, son, John, and a sister, Joan. A celebration of life will be held in Spokane at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N.
