Jamilyn Cassel Obituary Jamilyn Cassel, beloved daughter, sister and friend, passed away on August 30, 2023, in Spokane, WA. She was 41. Jamilyn was a lifelong resident of Spokane. She will be forever missed by her parents, Joan and Mike Poirier, her sisters Jade Villano (brother-in-law, Mark), and Jess Cummings; Jamilyn's significant other, Pat Hennessey and his daughters Serenity and Celeste; her father James Cummings, godparents Mary and Gretchen, aunts, uncles, numerous nephews and nieces, and a village of friends and loved ones. Jamilyn was preceded in death by her husband Adam Cassel and many loving grandparents. Jamilyn was a tenacious, loving, and compassionate young woman who will be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, kind heart, and passion for people, particularly seniors and elders. Jamilyn spent many years working in assisted living, home health, nursing homes and retirement communities where she treated each person she encountered with respect, dignity, encouragement, and a listening ear. She made sure their voices were heard as she pushed to improve systems that too often overlooked the person being served. Jamilyn loved traveling, especially to Hawaii, and she also loved to be home in Spokane. She had an infectious laugh and giving spirit that brightened the lives of countless people, but most of all her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held for Jamilyn at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Shadle Park Presbyterian Church, 5508 N. Alberta St., Spokane, WA.
