Janice Emily Nash Obituary
Janice Nash passed away on August 25, 2022. She was born Janice Eide in Minot, North Dakota on March 6, 1929. Janice was the oldest of four children and at an early age assumed major responsibility for her siblings upbringing. She married Frank Nash and they headed west with their four children in the early 1950s spending a few years in Seattle where Janice worked for Boeing (something she remained very proud of her entire life). Eventually the family moved to Spokane where they purchased a house on the South Hill, the house she lived in until her death.
Janice was a longtime advocate for animals volunteering hundreds of hours for the Spokane Humane Society and always caring for the stray cats and dogs she would find around Spokane. She was an avid gardener, loved to dig for antique bottles, and never missed an opportunity to go fishing and camping.
Janices husband Frank preceded her in death in 2008. She is survived by her sister Joanne Colvin of California; daughters Nancy White of Veradale, WA and Cheri Klimple of Portland, OR; sons Jerry Nash of Spokane and Gary Nash of Ion, WA along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on September 16, 10:30 am at Greenwood Memorial Terrace (211 North Government Way). An informal reception will follow at Heritage Funeral Home at 508 N Government Way. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Janices memory is encouraged to donate to the Spokane Humane Society.
