Jay E. Schuh Obituary
(Age 63)
Jay was born on June 20, 1949 in Spokane, WA and passed away on August 5,
2012 after a short, but hard-fought, battle with pancreatic cancer. His
family was everything to him, and he was extremely proud of his children.
He was passionate about everything he did - activities with his family, his
lifelong career in sales & his vast collections. Jay was also a skillful
builder, having renovated every home he lived in. He faithfully maintained
deep friendships throughout the United States. He was adventurous, and loved
to travel and explore new places, having visited Mexico, Hawaii and the
Caribbean, plus many parks, historic sites and family throughout the U.S. as
recently as last summer. In 1987, he started a fiddle contest in Post Falls,
ID. He volunteered as the Chairman of the Northwest Regional Fiddle Contest
for 20 years, and was long-time a supporter of the Old Time Fiddlers. Jay is
survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda at the home; his son, Gary Schuh, of
Gresham, OR; his daughter, Kelly Buckley & her husband Taylor Buckley, of
Rochester, NY; his father, Edward Schuh; his sister, Janet Burger and her
husband Bob Burger, and two nieces, Betsy Rau & Bonnie Miya, all of Spokane.
