John Clayton Parker

May 02, 1932 - September 24, 2021

John Clayton Parker Obituary Our dad, John Clayton Parker, Sr. (Jack) was finally reunited eternally with the love of his life Georgia on Friday, September 24th, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. (His passing was in NO way related to the COVID virus). Dad was Born May 2, 1932, to Albert S. Parker Sr., and Esther H.(Clayton)Parker. He attended Stevens Elementary School and John R. Rogers Highschool. After graduation, one of his best friends, Clayton Straub, encouraged him to apply for work at Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company (Pacific Northwest Bell). This became his lifelong career. He spoke often about how thankful he was to work for Ma Bell. They took care of him and Mom long after his retirement in 1992. He was a proud member of the Army National Guard; where he was Sargent First Class Tank Division stationed out of Fort Lewis Washington. He is survived by his children: John Parker, Jr; Karyl Williams (Dennis); Sheryl Holdridge (Todd); Kevan Parker (Barbara); and Connie Jacobs (Darby). He also leaves behind a legacy of 16 Grand Children and 22 Great Grand Children, along with a Special Loving partner of many years, Cathy York and her family. We are eternally grateful for her relationship with dad and love her as part of our family! He was predeceased by his parents; Wife Georgia; Brother Albert Parker, Jr; Sisters Lillian Munson; Dorothy Cole; Dora Zogran; and Betty Molyneaux; Daughters Cathleen and Colleen; Grandson Catlin Jacobs; and Daughter-In-Law Janice Parker. Dad was very active his whole life. He was a good bowler who won many trophies bowling with the TERAC team; and bowling in different leagues throughout the years. He enjoyed golfing with friends and family, square dancing, RVing, and walking every morning. He was a very patient baseball/softball coach. He loved having the privilege of coaching his boys in the Peewee league and later in life coaching their softball teams. He will be remembered for his calm, easy going disposition and strong work ethic. He had a beautiful silliness about him and was such a positive man. Not a man without problems or struggles, but one who faced those problems and remained positive. He seemed to know that little was much, realizing that what he had was more than enough. Having his family nearby made him even more content. Smiling, just to know one of his kids or grand kids were probably going to pop in for a random visit any time, and we did. And what a smile he had, it lit up the room, and a giggle that was so contagious, you couldnt help but giggle with him. He had an amazing way of making each one of his kids feel like they were his favorite! Our family home was always a safe, soft place to fall. Whenever there were trials and tribulation in our life, all we had to do was go to Mom and Dads house. Didnt even have to say anything. Just being there helped. They taught us that when all else fails, we have our family! What a wonderful gift! There is an irreplaceable hole in our hearts Dad, but we know that you are now pain free and where you really want to be, with Mom. REST IN PEACE SMILIN JACK!
