Judy K Ross, 81, of Spokane, Washington, left us peacefully on January 4, 2025. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Judy will always be remembered for her kindness and quirky personality. Born on April 9, 1943, in Spokane, Washington, she was the daughter of Raymond and Elsie DeLong and shared her early years with her brother, Larry DeLong.
Judy lived a life filled with love and laughter that touched everyone who had the privilege to know her. She is proceeded in death by the love of her life and husband Monte Ross. Her children: Danielle Rossi, Michielle Burchell (proceeded in death), Rondielle Martinson, and Rick Crabtree—Judy's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Brandi Weinkauf, Jacqueline Weinkauf, Brooke Baldwin, Megan Warren, Taylor Frye, and Dalton Crabtree; and great-grandchildren: Kylee Weinkauf, Hayleigh Weinkauf, Lilly Long, Elliott Warren, Serin Warren, Jinora Israel, Victor Weinkauf. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart as she reveled in their accomplishments and milestones.
Judy was known for her vibrant personality that shone brightly wherever she went. A true lover of hats—she wore one every day without fail—they became an extension of herself; each hat told its own story while reflecting Judy’s unique spirit. Her presence brought warmth to those fortunate enough to be near.
Judy had a deep love for the Lord and her church, which were central to her life and brought her great joy and purpose. She also had a special fondness for hummingbirds, delighting in their grace and vibrancy. Among life’s simple pleasures, she enjoyed savoring a good chocolate martini.
In addition to tending to family gatherings where laughter echoed throughout the house, Judy found joy in puzzling—a pastime that allowed for quiet reflection amid life's chaos—and often shared with this joy with friends.
Though we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman whose kindness knew no bounds, we celebrate the indelible mark she left behind on our hearts. Judy K. Ross will forever remain alive within us—in memories shared, love exchanged, and lessons learned about compassion, family bonds, and finding joy even amidst challenges.
A celebration of life will be held February 15, 2025 at 11:00 am at Heritage Funeral & Cremation 508 N Government Way, Spokane WA.
