June 27, 1932 - February 09, 2024
Our Queen June Margaret Rogers Sunrise, June 27, 1932, June was gifted to Charles and Kathleen Stevens. This took place in Richmond, in the county of Surrey, England. She survived WWII. During that time, she had a paper route. When the air raid sirens would go off, she would seek shelter. When the coast was clear she would come out and collect the bomb shrapnel for money. She was a warrior. Her sister, Janice, would say that she was a female version of Indiana Jones. Who else would join a rowing team and not even know how to swim. She had several jobs over in England as she grew. Her love of chocolate got her a job in a candy store. It also got her fired! June transitioned to America. Here she experienced the ups and downs that immigrants did in the 1950s. She lost two daughters in her lifetime, Jocelyn and Tricia who met her paradise. She had five other children, so a total of seven. No wonder she loved Andre Champagne! She was our matriarch. Her presence was beautiful, strong, and as always, graceful. She worked hard and went back to college several times earning her bachelor's degree in child development and human services, specializing in Elders. She also made the Deans List! She also worked hard to get her insurance licenses for all over the United States. She showed her family that you can live your dreams with hard work. Never doubt or make excuses. Now her family and friends declare her time of Sunset, February 9, 2024, 6:20am. She is finally home with her daughters, Jocelyn Phillips and Tricia Johnson, where they are basking in the Glory of Our Heavenly Father, God. We have final peace and joy in knowing that. She is preceded to Glory by her parents- Charles Stevens and Kathleen Allen and daughters- Jocelyn Phillips and Tricia M. Johnson. Our mothers arms were as wide and large as her heart for her family. She is survived by her sister Janice (Rafael) Alfonzo Children- Jacqueline (James) Eckley, Roger (Lori) Stevens, JulieAnn Sleep, Scott (Robyn) Mays, and Anthony Johnson Grandchildren- Matthew Mellissa Eckley, Valina Eckley, Dyaneshia Marie Sleep, Cecy Bowers, Rudolph Brandy Pyne, Donovan Cantin, Forrest Amanda Mays, Jennifer Phillips, Kirsten Botts, and Hannah Kellen Webb.
