Kari Christine Mason (73) went home to her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2025. She was married to her devoted husband Paul for 48 wonderful years.

Kari was born in Olympia, Washington on November 22, 1951, to Larry and Helen White. She lived her childhood days in Spokane, Washington, while making frequent trips to her favorite place Chelan, Washington, to visit beloved family members including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kari attended Shadle Park High School, where she was involved in multiple activities including band and the debate team. With her deep love of music, she learned to play various instruments including the guitar, saxophone, and piano. She also enjoyed playing a good game of tennis. She graduated from Shadle in 1970.

Kari attended Seattle Pacific University and the University of Washington for college, where she studied Speech Language Pathology. In 1975, she moved to Boston Massachusetts, where she worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a medical assistant. It was in Boston at her church group that she met the love of her life Paul. They were married on May 27, 1977. Paul and Kari moved from Boston back to Spokane in December 1978, with their 6 month old son. Here in Spokane, they built their life of 48 years together, raising four sons and one daughter. They were involved in their local churches, attending Fourth Memorial church for 11 years and then Foothills Community Church for 25 years. Kari was always deeply involved in ministry, including teaching Sunday School, leading care groups, Bible studies, missions conferences, and especially leading worship with the Foothills worship team.

Kari is remembered for how deeply she loved her family, and how much she cared for every one she came into contact with. She would know your life story in a matter of minutes, and remember all of the details. Her gifts were to love and to help; every person she came across, left impacted and touched by her spirit.

Kari is survived by her loving husband Paul, son David (Tricia), son Matt (Allie), son Mark (Kristin), son Danny (Amber), daughter Bethany (Aaron), 11 grandchildren, Savannah, Megan, Luke, James, Ashlyn, Samual, Zachary, Juliana, Benjamin, Dahlia, William, and 4 siblings, Gayle Repsold (Chris), Wendy Warnock, Ken White (Tracy) and Kathy Hills (Rob). She was preceded in death by her father Larry, her mother Helen, and her grandson Mason.

A memorial service will be held for Kari’s life on Thursday, March 27th at 10:00 am at Foothills Community Church.
