Keith Younker

Keith Younker Obituary Entered peacefully into rest June 29, 2021, at Holy Family Hospital. Keith was born to Alfred and Mary Younker in Spokane, WA on June 12, 1938. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Lynn) Younker; his parents, Alfred and Mary Younker; brothers Arthur and Lyle Younker; and sister Minnie Sexton. Keith spent his childhood in Trout Creek, MT and Kootenai, ID. He graduated in 1956 from Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint, ID. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S Navy from 1958-1962, serving on the �USS Vega� based in San Francisco, serving as a personnel clerk. After being released from active duty, Keith served in reserve duty from December 1962 to November 1964. After completing his service, Keith lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay area. He worked for IBM in Oakland, CA from 1965 until 1968. He met Lynn Cox while in San Francisco. They were married on October 27th, 1968 in Spokane where they made their home. They were married 50 years until Lynn�s death in 2019. Keith worked as a computer programmer for Cominco until his retirement in 1995. Keith was an avid water skier and snow skier. He and Lynn thoroughly enjoyed taking their boat out on the lakes for recreation and fishing. Through the years, they made many life-long friends as they participated with the Spokane Yacht Club in Coeur d�Alene, ID where Keith had the honor of serving as Commodore of the Club. Keith and Lynn always looked forward to their annual trip to Yuma, AZ to spend the winters having wonderful times with their family and friends. Although Keith had no children of his own, he loved his many nieces and nephews, as they did him, and always looked forward to all the family gatherings. The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Keith�s stay. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to give to your favorite charity.
