Leon W Ziolkowski Jr.

February 18, 1963 - December 06, 2020

Leon W Ziolkowski Jr. Obituary Leon was born to Mildred Marie Stauffer and Leon William Ziolkowski Sr. on February 18, 1963. The story was rumored is he was dropped in the Arkansas River in Salida, Colorado due to him being born with fluid on his lungs. He was raised in Colorado and spent most of his school years in Salida where he was born. He enjoyed many hobbies to include hunting and fishing with his dad, hanging with friends and enjoying a malt beverage or two. He also was very active in his school athletics including football, track, cross country and basketball until his knees decided they needed a rest. After graduation, he joined the Army for a short stent then moved with his family to Tucson, Arizona due to his fathers poor health condition. This is where he met his wife, Michelle Denise Palmer. They dated for two years and got married on February 22, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly after, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a short time later, they welcomed their first son Anthony Michael Ziolkowski on May 26, 1994. In July of the same year, they decided to make the move to Washington to be close to Michelles family, and they settled in Cheney, Washington where they purchased their first home. With his boisterous personality, Leon made many friends, as he did everywhere he went. He enjoyed his time with his family and strived to be the man his father was. This included many family vacations and enjoying time with extended family as much as possible. They welcomed Zander Christopher Ziolkowski on September 3, 2001. He raised his boys to enjoy the outdoors, sports, and to relish time with family and friends. Leon and Michelle enjoyed teaching their boys the art of cooking, hunting, fishing, camping and sports. He coached Zanders little league challenger baseball team and relished watching Anthony climb the ranks in karate until football became his passion. Michelle and Leon went to as many sporting events as they could to support their boys. When Anthony graduated in 2012, Zander took center stage with his fathers love of cross country and track as he moved into his high school years. When Zander graduated in May of 2020, Leon had the honor of presenting him his high school diploma. He was extremely proud of his boys and all their accomplishments. He spoke often of his wife and boys and could not brag enough about them to everyone he met. He was an all-around wonderful father, husband, family member and friend. No one could bring a brighter smile into a room than Leon. He will forever be loved and cherished in our memories and in our hearts, through stories told and tears cried. We love you.
