Margie Miyoshi Obituary Margie (Matsushima) Miyoshi was born on May 31, 1942 and went to meet her Lord on September 16, 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A loving and caring sister, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kihei and Yakue Matsushima, brothers, Harry, George, Takashi, and Lester, sister, Edna Tanigawa, and husband, T. Kenneth Miyoshi. She is survived by her four children, Michael (Lisa), Russell (Beatriz), Scott (Mary Ann), and Marcie (Erwin Laquindanum); eleven grandchildren (Zachary, Peter, Kalea, Robert, Thomas, Sachiko, Xochitl, Mya, Valentina, Ethan, Zoraya); two siblings, John and Sachi, and the families of her siblings and siblings-in-law, and lots and lots of friends and people who she considered family. Margie was born in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. She raised her four children, and made her mark in her communities in Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Utah, and Washington. Margie was a PTA president, a Girl Scout leader, an elected school board member, and more. She was commissioned by then Governor Booth Gardner and served as a member of the Advisory Council on Education Funding for the state of Washington. Margie�s greatest love was her Lord Jesus, and she was a great servant leader. She was an important part of her church community, Highland Park United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school, helped lead the youth group, and served tirelessly to keep the church functioning and the people growing. Margie had the gift of hospitality and lived the truth of the statement that a stranger was a friend she had not yet met. She would often meet people, invite them to share a meal, and invite them to church. People responded positively to her because her smile encompassed her whole body and emanated from her beautiful soul. One of the greatest living tributes to Margie is how many people (especially those her children�s age) consider her their second mom. Her family has always contained many more kids than the four who had the privilege of her being their full-time mom. They all loved being with her whether any of the rest of us were around. We will all miss her very much. Memorial services will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 611 S.
