Mary Davis Obituary Mary Geneva Davis was brought into this world on February 16, 1924 in Jay, Oklahoma by her mother, Laura Ethel (Whittle) George and her father, Herman A. George. She was 1 of 11 children with 6 sisters and 4 brothers. Mary married on May 18th, 1944 to Floyd Smith. She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother to her sons Gary and Sid, and her daughter Lorie. After losing her husband in 1994, Mary remarried in 1995 to Harold Hallin, but sadly lost him to illness in 2001. Mary married George Davis in 2003 and were together for 16 years before he passed in 2019. Mary held a passion for music. In the late 1930's, Mary and 3 of her sisters would walk down to their local radio station to sing 'live' as Mary also played the guitar. Called to help her country, during World War 2, Mary worked at an aircraft production Air Force plant in Kansas City, Kansas before traveling to northern Texas to work at an Air Force factory as a welder for the Waco CG-4A Glider aircraft, around 1943. A real 'Rosie the Riveter' of her time. As Mary devoted her life to Jesus Christ in 1966, her love of music flourished in her faith. You could often find Mary singing or humming hymns wherever she was. Taking His word into every aspect of her life, she served in several churches, as well as nursing home ministries. A true prayer warrior, she was instrumental in the salvation of her children and the prayerful miraculous healing and safety of several of her grandchildren. Her love held no bounds, even into her years where words were fleeting or lost, Mary would clasp your hand and her eyes told of all her love for you. Mary stopped counting years at the age of 97 when the Lord called her to rest on November 29th, 2021. She was comforted by loved ones with her favorite gospel music playing. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure held by those that knew her; she is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond any earthly measure. Mary's legacy lives on in her son Gary Smith & his wife Vicki, her son Sid Smith & his wife Cindi, and her daughter Lorie Van Veen & her husband Rudy; Her siblings Ludema, Madene, and Dwayne; Her 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Proceeded by her husbands; her parents; and her siblings Ross, Vernon, Ray, Hazel, Margie, Joann, and Lucille.
