Maxine Rose (Anderson) Lamers Obituary Maxine Lamers, 100, passed at home in Spokane, WA on February 4th, 2021 with her devoted husband of 77 years by her side. Maxine was born in Spokane WA on November 22nd 1920 to Sophus Anderson and Gillie Mae (Greenwood) Anderson. Maxine also had an older sister Helen Wallace. Maxine graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1929 and then attended Kelsey Baird Business School. Maxine met Gerald Frank Lamers, the love of her life, at a USO dance. The love birds married three months later, on May 19th, 1943. She followed him to San Diego before he was deployed overseas during World War II. The couple moved to Seattle, WA in 1948 and Gerry attended Dental School at the University of Washington. They moved to Spokane in 1951 to be close to family. Maxine spent many years at their cabin at Priest Lake, Idaho where she enjoyed, family gatherings, huckleberry picking, boating, snowmobiling, fishing and a good happy hour with friends. She traveled the United States and several foreign countries. Maxine was involved in community service including president of the Spokane District Dental Auxiliary, St Luke�s Hospital Auxiliary, and St Francis Guild at St John�s Cathedral. Her social pursuits included a women�s investment group, Liberty Lake ladies golf club, a bowling league, Jazzercise, and playing Mahjong and Bridge with her mother and friends. Maxine had an infectious giggle and found joy spending quality time with loved ones. She was survived by her husband, Dr. Gerald Lamers; her two children: Judy (Chuck) Halstead and Frank (Charlotte) Lamers; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Due to Covid-19, there will be a private graveside service. A celebration of her life will be held when possible.
