Merrill "Moose" Edwin Bruneau Obituary
Born in Spokane, WA to Anthony D and Helen R (Beckman) Bruneau. After graduating John R Rogers High, Spokane in June 1944 Merrill enlisted in the army in September of 1944. Was sent to Germany. A WW2 vet. Made rank fast and was discharged in August of 1946 as a Staff Sargent. Married Mertice Joy Jensen on September 8th, 1946. Lifelong business man. Owner & co-mangager with wife Mertice of the "LeRoi" dept store and M&M cleaners in Hillyard, WA. A meat cutter by trade. Worked in management for Safeway Stores as a meat buyer and was a floor manager with K&N meats of Seattle. Kept his business skills sharp to the end with a little private bakery business in his apartment complex, "The Vintage" of Spokane. Forcibly retired when he was moved to "Royal Park Care Center" of Spokane where he was lovingly cared for the last few months of his life. A full and busy life to the end. Noticeably well liked by those who surrounded him. Survived by younger brother Richard V Bruneau, sister in law Gayla Jensen both of Spokane. Children James P Bruneau, and
Barbara E Goeckel. Grandchildren: Cass E Bruneau, Angela Barnes, and Jenny (Goeckel) Mutz. Great grandchildren: Cade and Carissa Bruneau. Grand and great grandchildren were his joy. Made his appointment with the Lord at the age of 93 in the early hours of morning. Saturday, July 6, 2019.
