Nancy L Yount, 83, of Liberty Lake passed peacefully in her sleep on September 8, 2024. She was born January 8, 1941, to William and Adeline (Hidy) Battin in Colville, WA. As the oldest of four children raised in Spokane, her sister and brothers were her first friends, with many cousins nearby. She graduated from North Central High School in Spokane.
Nancy met Robin Yount in 1969. They were married in1970. Together they raised their two sons, Michael and Sean. Robin's job took them to, among other places, the Tri-Cities, Hawaii, and Florida. They enjoyed travel, visiting family as often as they could. She was delighted when they returned to the Spokane area in 1996, once again surrounded by extended family. After 30 years of happy marriage, Robin passed away in 2001. Nancy's faith in God deepened during this time, giving her the strength needed to navigate life as a widow, surviving breast cancer and other challenges. With the arrival of her grandson Robin and granddaughter Katie, life took on a new joy. She cherished the role of "Grams" and loved every moment she spent with them.
Nancy will be remembered for her warmth, her generous heart, and the joy that she brought to her family and friends. She was our biggest cheerleader and always there with a listening ear.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robin, sister Connie Mealer, and brother William "Butch" Battin Jr.
She is survived by sons Michael (Sharon) Yount and Sean (Heidi) Yount, grandson Robin Yount, granddaughter Katie Yount, brother Patrick (Toni) Battin, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Valley Real Life, 1831 S. Barker Rd., Greenacres, WA on Friday October 11, 2024, at 3:00 pm.
