Neal Irvin Peoples Obituary Neal Irvin Peoples, age 85, passed away August 13, 2019 in Spokane Valley, WA. He was born July 2, 1934 in Minot, ND to Ralph F. Peoples and Aplonia Steinmetzer Peoples, the youngest of nine children. Neal served 10 � years as a tank commander for the 105th Engineer Co. in the Washington Army National Guard; he was honorably discharged in May 1960. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Alberts (Peoples) on August 22, 1953 and they later divorced in 1980. Neal became a police officer for the Spokane Police Department on January 1, 1961 and retired on his 50th birthday, July 2, 1984 at the rank of Patrol Sergeant. He loved to spend time in the Blue Mountains with his buddies, elk hunting and telling stories around the campfire. He will be greatly missed by us all. Neal is survived by his daughters, Debra (John) Clarke of Spokane and Mindi Ritz of Federal Way; sisters, Iris Quandt of Mandan, ND, Kathleen Hodges of Temecula, CA and Elaine Maurer of Spokane; grandchildren, John (Jen) Clarke, Jr., Daryn Neal Ritz, Michelle (Kyle) Clarke and Lindsay (Scott) Ritz-Williams all of Spokane; as well as great grandchildren, Aiden, Danner, Erikson and Ellis Mae all of Spokane as well. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services which will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 1pm at Heritage Funeral Home.
