Norman E. Staley MD Obituary Norman E. Staley (Age 94) of Spokane Washington passed away May 8, 2022, after a brief illness. He was born in Biggar Saskatchewan on September 17, 1927 to Loyal and Margaret Staley. In his early life his family moved to Fort St. John, Nelson, and finally to Vancouver B.C. He attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, receiving a Pharmacy degree, and returned after 2 years of Pharmacy work to obtain his degree as a M.D. After graduation he and his family immigrated to the U.S. for his Internship in Spokane. After his internship he then started his private practice in Spokane Valley caring for his patients, delivering babies and making house calls, he touched so many lives. After retiring from his practice, he eventually returned to Spokane and went to work as a Medical Consultant for the State of Washington for the past 34 years. He was a highly respected, top producer in the State of Washington until the day he logged off for the last time. Generous to a fault he always wanted to help others. Norman is survived by his brothers David and George, his son David (Cheryl), daughters Donna, Darlene (Kerry), 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Norman was preceded in death by his wives (Mildred and Lorraine), brother Gerald, and sister Evelyn. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family, he was an exceptional man in many ways � a hardworker who never lost the discipline learned from growing up in the depression, an accomplished Physician who helped so many people in the community throughout his long career, a wonderful father, a friend and mentor to his co-workers, and a long-time supporter of Christian Missionaries and local churches. The family wishes to thank the wonderful care provided by Hospice of Spokane, the terrific and kind staff at Ridgeview Place Assisted Living. A very special thank you to all of his wonderful work family for all of their kindness and caring in his final days. Memorial service will be held at Heritage funeral home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane on May 26 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Hutton Settlement.
