Patricia "Pat" Pettibone

December 16, 1931 - March 17, 2021

Patricia "Pat" Pettibone Obituary Pettibone, Patricia ?Pat? passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. She was born December 16, 1931 to Verl Giese and Edwin Young in Davenport, Washington. She was raised in Davenport with her mother, grandmother and many aunts and uncles. She was the Valedictorian of her high school class. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her first husband, Lt. Col. John Ginter ?Jack,? her second husband, Holman D. Pettibone ?Tuck? and her beloved son, John Ginter ?Jay.? She and Tuck built their home in Spokane where they lived since 1995. Pat is survived by her brother Sam Giese (Marsha), sister Kathy Giese, as well as her loving children Margot Toomey (late Jim), Michael Ginter (Cathy) and Kristin Hill (Frank), and her stepchildren, John Pettibone (Marian), Marie Llewellyn (Parker), Holman "Chip" Pettibone (Margie), Laura Pettibone (Anne Jenkins) and Anne Pettibone. She is also survived by her dear grandchildren who called her Grandi, Brandin Northrop (Sarah), Court Toomey (Kaci), Kendall Meserva (John), Connor Toomey, Katie Pettibone, Joey Pettibone, Mari Pettibone, Georgie Pettibone, Ward Pettibone, Holman Pettibone, Chloe Snyders and Gavin Snyders. She was a Great-Grandmother to Helene and Liv Northrop and Jack Meserva. Pat will be remembered for her sense of humor, her passion for sailing with Tuck on San Francisco Bay in their beautiful sailboat, building homes of which they built many, and the wonderful friends she stayed close with until her death. When friends and family speak of her, they admire her intelligence, her ability to talk about everything, and the most marvelous hostess you could ever meet. She could put two chips in a bowl and hand you a glass of water and it might have felt like a royal affair. She had a wonderful way of making her guests feel welcome and relaxed, treating them to a tasty snack during ?cocktail hour? or a gourmet meal she just happened to whip up, all the while engaging in wonderful conversation. She was the definition of warm and thoughtful hospitality. Wherever she lived, she built a true home, in every sense of the word ? a loving and welcoming place, with fun and laughter, and embracing warmth. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to her many Spokane neighbors and friends who watched over her. They are truly part of our family. There will be no services at this time. Interment will be at Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
