Philip Edmund Kuharski Obituary Kuharski, Philip E. passed away on February 11, 2022. Phil was born on November 19, 1931, in Beckley, West Virginia. He was the oldest child of Edmund Kuharski and Elizabeth (Hull) Kuharski. The family moved to Minneapolis in 1939. Phil attended Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota. In 1951, Phil came to Spokane WA with the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. He met Patricia Oczkewicz in May 1951 and they were married in August 1953. He earned an accounting degree from Kinman Business University which served him well over his career. Phil worked with Fidelity Savings and Loan for almost 30 years attaining the role of Executive Vice President. When the bank was purchased in 1982, Phil went to work with Prudential Securities where he retired in 1997. Since then, he has remained a financial consultant in his own business, PK Consulting. Patricia preceded Phil in 2016. During their 63 years of marriage, Phil and Patricia had five children. Steven died in 1962 at age 8, Kathleen Thompson (Garry) of Coeur d�Alene ID, Jean Corder (James), Robert Kuharski (Brenda) and Edward Kuharski (Sally), all of Spokane WA. They totally enjoyed their 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. During his business career, Phil served in many roles for many local organizations. Most notable as President of the Spokane United Way, Chairman of the North/South Freeway Urban Design Team, a member of Governor Spellman�s Economic Advisory Committee, a member of the Spokane Mayor�s Economic Forecasting Council, Chairman and Research Chair for the Spokane and Kootenai County Real Estate Research Committee, Board member for the Fairmount Memorial Association, and Chairman and Board of the Immaculate Heart Retreat Foundation. Phil was the oldest of five siblings and is survived by Wade (wife, Sally) of Boulder CO, Virginia Minnich of Minneapolis MN, and brother-in-law Dean Sharp of San Diego CA. Catholic funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Spokane this Thursday, February 17th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Burial will be in a private ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane.
