Richard Gray Obituary Richard �Dick� Edward Gray passed away September 10, 2023 in Spokane, WA. He was born to Clarence and Marjorie Gray on November 25, 1937 in Sidney, Montana. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1957 and joined the Army that fall. He was stationed at Fort Bliss where he was with the 4th Battalion Guided Missiles Battery. He left the Army in 1960 and went to work at the Deer Park Pine Industry Mill. While working at the mill he was taking night classes at Kinman Business University in Spokane, WA. He graduated in 1974 with a Professional Accounting degree. He worked at Inland Power and Lights as an accountant and continued his education at Columbia College. In 1976 he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. In 1977 he was hired by the State of Washington as an auditor in the Prorate and Fuel Tax department. He worked with the State of Washington for 35 years and retired as the Audit Manager of the Eastern Region. Richard enjoyed classic country music and had seen many concerts. He loved reading books about history and was especially interested in WWI since his father served in that war. He enjoyed traveling and took several cruises with his wife. He also enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and Kraken and was a huge Gonzaga basketball fan. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters (Beverly, Sandra, Shirley, and Jean), a brother Clifford, his son Darren Gray, stepson Fred Lewis, and wife Lynda Chamberlain Gray. He is survived by his daughters Sharleen Gray, Anna Gray, stepdaughter Patty McNeilly (Wayne), granddaughters Mikayla, Kaydee, and Olivia.
