Richard Michael McLendon (1965-2024)
Spokane – With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Richard Michael McLendon, age 58, on July 11, 2024. Born on September 12, 1965, in Spokane, Richard was the son of John McLendon, Sr. and Sharon LeDoux.
He attended Saint Thomas More grade school and Mead High School, where he played football and basketball. A lifelong member of the trap shooting association, Richard won the PITA Grand American Championship at the age of 15. He was also an avid fan of Gonzaga Men’s basketball and a lover of golf.
Richard was a man of many talents and interests. He engaged in various endeavors, from running an apparel business to fixing cars and flipping homes. He was a natural athlete who loved to compete and never backed down from a challenge. Whatever he set his mind to, he pursued with passion and dedication.
He is preceded in death by his mother Sharon LeDoux, his grandparents Leo and Ula Auer and Ted and Sarah Marshall, as well as his stepbrothers Johnny LeDoux and Wes LeDoux.
Richard is survived by his longtime love Emely Pajarit and her daughter Michelle, his father John McLendon Sr., his brothers John McLendon Jr. (Peri), Bob McLendon, and Billy McLendon (Fongnaul), his stepbrothers Terry LeDoux (Tina), Mike LeDoux, Thomas LeDoux, and Lisa LeDoux as well as his nephew Colton McLendon (Emmarae).
Richard's greatest attribute was his heart. His kindness and generosity were instantly recognizable and deeply felt by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
