Shirley Faye Hood Obituary Shirley Faye Hood, 85, resident of Spokane Valley Washington, passed away, Saturday night February 13, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Ok., with loved ones at her side. She will be laid to rest on Wednesday March 17th, 2021, with a small family graveside service at the Fairmount Memorial Grounds. She requested a big Celebration of Life party, for her family and friends to share what we all knew and loved about her and begin the healing as one big family, We have schedule that for Thursday March 18,2021 at 5pm at Pati Melvins house. The daughter of Cecil Gray and Hester Lipe Gray was born January 29,1936, in Russellville, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brothers Leon Gray, and Paul Gray. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Pati Melvin, and Pam Laude of Spokane Valley, Wa., and Renee Landry of Oklahoma City. Also, her two sons, Jeffrey Hood of Post Falls, Id., and Michael Hood of Del City, Ok. She also leaves behind, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren,5 granddogs, many nieces and nephews who all shared a spot in her big heart. During her 85 years on earth, besides raising her 5 children, she worked as a bookkeeping accountant, managed an apartment complex, worked w/ hospice, shared her gospel music ministry with missions and many senior citizens in nursing homes. She cherished the hours spend in her churches she attended, playing for the Lord with her talent on the piano, and keyboard and vocals. She also enjoyed many hours she spent in the gardens throughout the years, growing vegetable, beautiful flowers and even dealing with the constant weeding that comes with every beautiful garden. As her new life in Heaven has begun, we still left here on earth continue to miss her dearly. The biggest part of her was truly her heart of gold. Now she has golden wings to go with that great big heart of hers. You are truly being missed Mom. In loving memory?.. In lieu of flowers, her wish was that donations be made to the St. Jude Cancer Center for Children.
