January 00, 1900 - November 24, 2020

Steven Poquette Obituary Steven Poquette died November 24, 2020 at the age of 73. He was born in Spokane to his parents, Glen and Beverly Poquette. At Mead High School he enjoyed football, wrestling, and debate. He was also active in DeMolay. He married Susan Phipps, his wife of 53 years, in 1967. Steve graduated with Honors from WSU in 1969. There he met several lifelong friends in the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Susan and Steve served in the Peace Corps for two years as teachers in the Marshall Islands. After serving in the Peace Corps, Steve attended and graduated from the University of Washington School of Law. He worked in private practice for a few years before starting his 30-year career with the Farm Credit Bank system. His last 13 years of Farm Credit Bank employment were with CoBank in Atlanta and Denver. Many family weekends were spent at Priest Lake. Hiking, fishing, mushrooming, berry picking and mountain biking were all enjoyed with children and grandchildren. There were very few mountains and ridges surrounding the lake that he didn?t explore with his family over the years. Steve loved math problems and spent many hours solving both word and math puzzles. He will be greatly missed by Susan, their sons Pete Poquette (Holly) and Matt Poquette (Alison), his brother Ed Poquette, sisters-in-law Polly Phipps and Barbara Buckalew (Allen), and close family friends Mark and Debbie McLaughlin. He was a favorite of his grandchildren, Amara, Sierra, Marissa, DJ, Justin, Gabriel, and Andalucia. Honoring Steve?s wishes, the family will gather privately for a celebration of his life.
