He is proceeded in death by his paternal grandfather Mr. Claude Coates Sr. He is survived by his parents, Fred Coates of Columbia, South Carolina and Angelina Garry of Dayton, Ohio; his five children, (son) Ayden Clapper-Garry, (daughter) Makiah Van Geystal, (son) Labron Sprayberry, (son) Micah Garry, (son) Leandre Bother; his sister Lakesha Garry and brother Trevonne Garry of Columbia, South Carolina; paternal grandmother Hattie M. Coates; his maternal grandparents Mr. Thomas Wilson Sr. and Laura Wilson (Garry); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
