Thomas H Brown Obituary Thomas Harold Brown, 98, long time Spokane resident and businessman, passed away Saturday, July 7th in Spokane. He was born in Wenatchee, to Emulus and Bessie Brown. His siblings were Rosebud, Evelyn, Clarence, June and Jerry. During the Great Depression his family moved to Kendrick Idaho, where he graduated from Kendrick High School, then worked at Swan Shipyards in Portland Oregon until he was drafted for WWII. In the Army he saw combat and nearly lost his life, something he never spoke about until his last years. Following the war he married Agnes Baker also of Kendrick, completed a business degree at the University of Idaho and moved to Portland Oregon to be employed by General Mills. There his daughter Diana was born. The small family then moved to Spokane, where he worked for over 30 years at Darigold Farms, having two sons, Gregory and Gary. He also acquired two master?s degrees from Gonzaga and Whitworth Universities. Thomas then married Geraldine and together they spent many years in the retirement facility industry, including Holman Gardens, Spokane Baptist Association, and Rockwood Retirement Community. He retired several times but went back to work until his final retirement at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his son Gary, wives Agnes and Geraldine and all his siblings. Survivors include children Diana and Greg and wife Janna, stepchildren Steve and Judy, and various grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Rockwood Retirement, 2903 East 25th Avenue, on Aug. 20th, at 2:00PM. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Rockwood Retirement for the very professional yet personal care provided to our father during his final years of life. He was proud of all of you.
