Thomas Michael Griffiths Obituary
Thomas Michael Griffiths, 58, passed away on October 7, 2023, in Spokane, WA, surrounded by loving family. His death was unexpected, caused by complications from his long-time lung disease, Sarcoidosis.
Tom was born on May 19, 1965, to Colleen Daley and Brian Griffiths in Spokane, WA. From an early age, Tom showed his restless entrepreneurial spirit, beginning as a young boy knocking on doors to ask if he could mow their lawns. He joined the Air National Guard at the age of 17, spending twelve years, first as a radio technician and, later, transitioning to weapons controller, climbing the ranks from enlisted Airman to 1st Lieutenant.
He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor?s Degree in Professional Accounting and later obtained a Master?s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). In 1992, after only two years, he left the corporate accounting world and started his own CPA firm, now named Griffiths, Dreher, Evans, P.S., CPAs, which is still going strong today and has expanded into business valuation and investment advisory services.
Always excited about new challenges, Tom blended his passions for business, sports, and cold beer, launching into the restaurant industry. Beginning with Heroes & Legends in 2003, Tom and his partners created several sports bars/restaurants including the two current Pint House Burgers & Brews locations.
Tom was generous and thrived in his role as mentor and coach, deeply caring about his relationships with partners, employees, and clients. He had a casual manner and made everyone feel like they were important and mattered. He loved to talk business with everyone as he ?made the rounds,? as he called it when he left the house in the morning.
Throughout it all, Tom adored and was deeply dedicated to his family. Outside of business, he spent his time taking scenic UTV rides and enjoying campfires at his property near Cataldo, Idaho, watching football in his shop at home, and spending time having fun with friends in the Palm Springs, California, area.
Tom is survived by his wife of 35 years, Roxanne Griffiths, children Alec Griffiths and Rachel Griffiths, mother Colleen Daley (Bruce), father Brian Griffiths (Marge), sister Chris Ortiz (Manny), and brother Randy Griffiths (Tammy), as well as his nephews, Matthew Sprott (Grace), Colin Griffiths, and Jack Griffiths, niece Cory Sprott Cox (Brian), and grand-niece Iris Cox.
