Virginia M. Zurfluh

Virginia M. Zurfluh quietly entered into rest on February 9th at Valley Hospital. She was born to Henry and Signe Hendricksen in Spokane Washington on March 10th , 1933, second to youngest of seven children.


She was a graduate of Roger’s High School in 1951. From there after a year working as a physical therapy aide, she entered Deaconess Nurses School, graduating in 1955, and then received her B.S. from Whitworth College in 1957.


She was proceeded into death by her parents, all but one of her siblings, her husband Cecil and son Keith Wallace. She is survived by sons Patrick Wallace (Cheryl) and Scott Wallace, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.


She attended Otis Orchards Community Church from 1960 to 1997 and then Morgan Acres Community Church to the present where she served in many capacities and played the piano for the church service. It was at Otis where she met and established lifetime friendships with Idabelle Stallard, Carolyn Scott and Judi Hill, and she also met her second husband, Cecil Zurfluh.


She worked for and eventually retired from the East Valley School District where she had worked as a nurse for the school district.


Virginia, Jinny to some was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother, she provided gentle encouragement, was kind and generous and had a listening ear.


A viewing hour will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, February 27th, 2025 at Heritage Funeral and Cremation. 508 N. Government Way. Spokane, WA. A second viewing hour will be held at 9:00 am Friday, February 28, 2025 at Heritage Funeral & Cremation with a Graveside service to follow at 10am at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. 211 N. Government Way. Spokane, WA.


Her memorial will be held at Otis Orchards Community Church, E 23304 Wellesley, on Friday, February 28th at 11:30am.


Memorial contributions can be made to Morgan Acres Community Church or The Union Gospel Mission in her name.
