William Crawford

Bill Obituary William (Bill) Charles Crawford of Spokane, WA passed away on May 15, 2022 in a skilled nursing facility in Spokane, WA from age-related complications following surgery. Bill was born on August 25, 1937 in Nashua, New Hampshire, the third of five children born to Wesley and Eva Crawford. His family lived near Rochester, NY and in Sheridan, WY as he grew up, and Bill graduated from Sheridan High School in 1954. As a teenager in Wyoming, Bill worked on dude ranches and enjoyed riding horses. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army and served three years, which included a station in Stuttgart, Germany. After leaving the Army, Bill attended Kinman Business University in Spokane to earn a degree in accounting and to pass the Certified Public Accountant exam. He spent his career as a CPA at Anderson, Peretti, and Company where he was a partner for many years and was a president of the Spokane Chapter of the Washington CPA Society. Bill greatly enjoyed outdoor activities, such as camping and hiking with his family and his sons� Boy Scout troop, serving as Assistant Scout Master and leading a 50-mile hike, and fishing and hunting in his retirement. While in Spokane, Bill met Doris Anne Lauritzen and they were married on September 26, 1959. He was also a loving father and grandfather, happily helping and serving his sons and grandchildren. He and his grandkids enjoyed their grandpa-grandkids-only camping trips to go fishing or take swimming lessons. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris, his oldest son, Douglas (Lisa) of Idaho Falls, ID, his sister Caroline Baglien (Ronald) of Chehalis, WA, his grandchildren James Crawford (Adrianne), Theresa Nelson (Mitchell), Marianne Parsons (Nicholas), and Allison Cobar (Darien). He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, four great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Steven William Crawford, his parents, and three of his four siblings, Marie Clinton, John Crawford, and Patrick Crawford. A celebration of life in Bill�s honor will be held on May 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home on 508 N Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
