William Weldon Prescott

Bill Obituary Weldon, Bill (William W. Prescott) Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - Bill Prescott, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was born on July 28, 1935, in Weber County, Utah. Bill is survived by his son Roger Prescott (Rikki Hinchee) of Rathdrum, Idaho, his daughter Sherry Davis of Mead, Washington, his granddaughter Rachel (Prescott) West of Derbyshire, United Kingdom, grandsons Spencer Davis and Jared Davis, both of Mead, Washington, and three great-grandchildren Haden Davis, Ashlyn Davis, and Wyatt Davis. He is also survived by his sister Suzanne Williams of Spokane and Fred Prescott of Spokane. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Nuboko, his father Fred Prescott, mother Leah Prescott, sister Virginia Hanks, sister Margaret Rossi, and son-in-law Randy Davis. Bill had a fulfilling career, working for several different jobs before settling into a position at Great Northern Railway. He dedicated decades of his life to the company, witnessing their mergers to Burlington Northern and BNSF (Burlington Northern and Santa Fe) before retiring. A man of many interests, Bill had a deep passion for astronomy and was a member of several local, regional, and national Astronomy and Planetary Associations. He also enjoyed tinkering with electronics in his workshop, going on cruises, camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, panning for gold, antique bottle collecting, and being a rock hound. Bill's love for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his family, as he was adored by his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bill was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints throughout his life, finding solace and community in his faith. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Thursday, February 1st, at noon at Heritage Funeral Home, located at 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, Washington. Following the service, a reception will immediately follow, and graveside services will take place thereafter. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to either the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the Parkinson's Disease Research Foundation in memory of Bill.
